Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has said that Celtic are targeting Manchester City’s Yan Couto on loan. Joseph is currently recovering from COVID-19 but has updated the supporters to say that the club are looking at the Brazilian. The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Girona but Man City are keen on getting the player more first team football.
Couto made 30 appearances, scoring twice and then assisting five time for the Liga2 side. Celtic are in the market for one, maybe two right-backs that fit the manager’s style of play. Given that it was Pep Guardiola that signed Couto, and given Pep plays with IWBs, it may be prudent to use the Man City connection for another promising young player.
Not back to work yet – far from it! But I’m told Celtic are targeting Man City right-back Yan Couto for a potential loan. There’s interest from Portuguese clubs too.

The manager said that he had multiple ‘Plan A’s’ in the transfer window, which would likely be a rightback alongside a goalkeeper. Postecoglou’s wishlist will hopefully take shape on the park in the next few weeks. Postecoglou has added Liel Abada (RW), Osaze Urhoghide (CB) and Kyogo Furuhashi (ST) with Starfelt (CB) arriving as the latest signing. The club have also been linked with Kristijan Lovric (LW) from HNK Gorica for £5m. Fraser Forster is once again being linked with a loan move but the manager may have some of his own targets in mind.
Hopefully Celtic can sign a right-back in the coming weeks and Anthony can get well soon.
