Anthony Joseph has confirmed that Celtic are now in talks with Benfica for Paulo Bernardo as Celtic’s interest has now materialised.
Celtic are looking to make a few more signings before the conclusion of the transfer window this September. With the squad depth currently looking as fragile as it is, it is crucial that Brendan Rodgers acts now and brings in the players necessary for maintaining Celtic’s dominance.
Most recently, Sky Sports reporter, Anthony Joseph has claimed that Celtic have entered talks with Benfica over the possible transfer of Bernardo. However, the Portuguese midfielder still has four years left on his 5-year deal with Benfica, so securing his signature may come with a price.
It’s likely that the Hoops will be looking for a loan deal this summer, rather than a straight-out buy. Anthony Joseph confirms this by saying that Benfica are looking for a ‘sizeable’ sell-on clause.
