Celtic are in Ireland for this evening’s friendly against Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds, with the match completely sold-out…

Sligo holds a very special place in the Celtic story as Matthew Marr outlined earlier this week on The Celtic Star. Think Brother Walfrid and Sean Fallon for starts. Hopefully Brendan will take the squad to the Brother Walfrid statue in the town for photos.

Celtic Team News

Celtic will take a youthful side across to Ireland for the mid-season clash against the Irish side. Celtic will be without the international Celts: including James Forrest, Tony Ralston, Auston Trusty, Arne Engels, Paulo Bernardo, Adam Idah, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, Viljami Sinisalo, Kasper Schmeichel.

However we can expect the likes of Scott Bain,  Alex Valle, Maik Nawrocki, Stephen Welsh, Luke McCowan, Odin Holm,  Kyogo, Nicolas Kuhn and Yang could all feature.  And Celtic captain Callum McGregor, now retired from international football, could also make an appearance.

Add to this a decent number of young players from the B team all eager to impress Brendan Rodgers.

Kick Off Time

The game from The Showgrounds kicks off at 7:30pm (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

The game will be shown on Celtic TV with coverage beginning at 6:30pm, which is available for all subscribers. League of Ireland TV will also show the game with fans able to purchase a €10 match pass to watch the game on the LOI streaming service.
