Celtic earned their place in today’s Scottish Cup Fifth Round draw which will take place at Hampden at 6pm this evening. The Fifth Round matches will take place on the weekend of 11/12 February and the Celtic support will be eagerly awaiting news of the draw, which is not being shown on television but is being streamed live by the official SFA’s social media channels and of course you’ll hear about it straight away on The Celtic Star.
Celtic are joined in the draw by Falkirk, Motherwell, Dundee United, Hamilton, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Livingston and theRangers. Did anyone notice that on BBC Sportscene last night the presenter described holders theRangers as “last season’s CHAMPIONS” ??!!!
Other ties to be decided from the Fourth Round as things stand at the moment are Cove Rangers v Ayr United, Darvel v Aberdeen, Elgin City v Drumchapel United, Hibs v Hearts, Inverness Caley Thistle v Queen’s Park and Linlithgow Rose v Raith Rovers with some of these ties postponed from yesterday due to the weather of alternatively matches happening today or tomorrow.
Celtic remain the most successful club (dead or alive) in Scottish Cup history but we’ve not won it for a couple of years now. A couple of Hampden final wins this season would be lovely as Ange Postecoglou eyes his first Treble to join, Stein, O’Neill, Rodgers and Lennon in achieving that.
So 6pm tonight, fear no-one and if it happens, bring on theRangers…oh and memo to the BBC, we are the Champions!
