Celtic face St Mirren in Paisley this evening with a capacity crowd expected before the rules tighten on Boxing Day. Fresh after their Cup Win over Hibs on Sunday at Hampden, Ange Postecoglou’s side will travel to face a depleted St Mirren team, who have suffered a COVID-19 outbreak within the camp.

The SFA have confirmed that the game will be officiated by David Munro, who will be joined by Assistant Referees Ralph Gordon and Jonathan Bell with Lloyd Wilson as Fourth Official. Munro refereed two games in November, both for Rangers which resulted in two wins over Livi (A) and Ross County (H).

Munro has not whistled a Celtic game since Neil Lennon’s final game, a 1-0 away defeat to Ross County. The Irishman would part ways with Celtic shortly thereafter with the disaster of last season already unfolded in front of our eyes. Before that, Munro last officiated a 1-1 draw between Celtic and St Johnstone at Celtic Park. He has not refereed many top flight games over the last two seasons and will be hoping to avoid controversy in Paisley tomorrow.
