It’s always an absolute lottery when it comes to the reliability of reports from foreign outlets, but they only tend to make things up when it comes to the Premier League.
You would think the signing of Ajeti would mean Neil Lennon was happy with his striking options going into the season, but it sounds like another player could be coming in.
A report from Sport Witness has quoted claims from Turkey that Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban is closing in on a move to Celtic, after a bid worth €8m plus bonuses was accepted.

The next step would be to complete a medical, and it’s suggested that he’ll fly in over the next few days to complete that and finalise the signing.
It would be an interesting signing because he’s never been truly prolific and he can play in a withdrawn role or out wide, but paying €8m+ for a utility player would be a strange move too.
There’s another twist when you consider that other reports coming out of Turkey suggest that Trabzonspor don’t want to sell him and there’s no deal been agreed at all:
🔴Ekuban, Trabzonspor'da kalıyor. Celtic veya herhangi bir kulüple yapılan anlaşma yok.
🔴Eddie Newton hoca ve yönetim de Eku'nun kalmasını istiyor. Ganalı forvetin de planı bu yönde.

You also have to consider that it’s possible there’s interest from elsewhere so these leaked reports are from the club or an agent to try and force someone else into action, so it’s not clear what’s happening at this point.
Ekuban is quick and physical so he could be a useful option, but 5 goals and 6 assists in 22 league appearances last season does suggest he’s not worth the price tag that’s being touted.
