Study confirms Celtic as favourite Scottish team globally

CELTIC have been confirmed as the favourite Scottish football team following a global study. As reported by the Scottish Sun, business traffic site SEMrush compared Scottish teams to determine the most popular club and it was the Scottish Champions that topped the list.

With 946,400 Google queries per month, Celtic were significantly larger than their Glasgow rivals in terms of internet queries. Celtic came first in 146 countries including USA, Australia and Brazil. The findings emphasis that Celtic is a global club, with supporters scattered throughout the world.

Celtic are also the biggest Scottish football club in terms of social media reach. Celtic boast over 484k followers on Instagram, compared to the second highest coming from Rangers’ 388k. On Twitter, Celtic have an enormous 681k followers compared to Rangers’ 541k.

Earlier this month, the Celtic Foundation confirmed a donation to New York charities to protect the most vulnerable from the impact of Coronavirus. Celtic’s fan base is world wide and it is testament to our origins, heritage as well as success that we continue to attract supporters from around the world.
