Sutton pokes fun at Cantwell once again for more diving antics

Chris Sutton has once again poked fun at theRangers midifelder Todd Cantwell for diving ridiculously in a friendly match. The newest Govan side were entertaining Greek side Olympiacos last night at Ibrox as they try desperately to get some money into the coffers to help with yet another ludicrous spending spree.

With all their world-beaters on show and in the side, somehow they couldn’t brush aside the Greek giants and succumbed to a 3-1 defeat, despite the pig-headed notion that they are a Champions League-worthy team now. Why just in the last couple of days alone they have been banging the drum about how the Scottish Premiership will be a mere formality and everyone is running scared from the players nobody wanted.

They had to settle, once again, from a dodgy penalty shout – this time called by Steven McLean. Of course, brother McLean is no stranger to helping out Scottish football’s favourite team, and when Tik-Tok Todd went flying to the deck as the goalkeeper ran out to his feet, he was only too happy to oblige (as always).

Sutton, who has already had a war of words with the Norwich City reject, commented on his outrageous pre-season dive via Twitter, saying:

“Any pre season contenders for the Simulation Game yet??”

Expect plenty more of them this season, if that’s anything to go by!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
