So Hibs couldn’t hold on in the end and were overcome by theRangers at Ibrox this evening, with the scoreline finishing 3-2 to the home side. After Ryan Porteous opened the scoring, Fashion Sakala equalised. But then Hibernian went up the pitch in a flash and went into the lead – courtesy of a Kevin Nisbet goal.

The men from Leith just weren’t the same team in the second half if truth be told, and the home side took full advantage of it. After the Ryan Jack equaliser at 2-2, it always looked like being Mick Beale who would emerge victorious from the fixture tonight in Govan. Duly, they took the lead through contract rebel, Alfredo Morelos and Hibs couldn’t get a hold of the game thereafter.

However, there is the not insignificant matter of yet another contentious decision by the match officials at Ibrox tonight. Whilst Lee Johnson’s men were 2-1 ahead, they had a very good shout for a handball after American, James Sands hit the ball with his hand inside his own area. The VAR team never even asked Nick Walsh to have a look and the ref carried on with the game as normal.

Yet again, we see the blatant misuse of the new technology as surely this one should have been looked at again by the match officials? Many have questioned the dubious call online once more, as is habitually the case in Scottish football these days. It seems as if nobody is destined to get anything from the officials against this Ibrox club.

It’s as if there is a culture that permits favourable decisions towards the ten-year-old club…

Anyway, have a look for yourself and see what you make of it:
