Celtic sitting pretty at the top of the league despite severe obstacles…suppose if you are good enough you’ll get through it.

As the international break gives us a quick rest bite from our hectic schedule, we can look back on the start of the league season with some satisfaction. To date we’ve played 13 games, with seven of those coming away from home. We were ‘randomly’ picked to travel to Pittodrie, Tynecastle, Fir park, Easter Road, Livingston, and of course Ibrox. Dingwall as well which can be considered a tough away fixture.
To sit at the top with an eight point lead (albeit having played a game more) is very satisfactory indeed.

Not only are the players playing under a new manager with a different approach than they’ve used to, but we’ve had more than our fair share of injury problems. Cameron Carter Vickers of course along with Maik Nawrocki, Reo Hatate, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda have all been or still are sidelined through injury. That’s a chunk of vital players that have all been missing, and to be in the position we are at this moment is remarkable.

That of course is down to the manager and players. It was disappointing to exit the League Cup and have had a frustrating Champions League campaign so far, but winning the Scottish Premiership is the main focus, and we’ve got ourselves in a very good position indeed.
And in the reverse round fixtures which started on Sunday when Aberdeen visited Celtic Park and lost 6-0, the likes of theRangers, Hibs and Hearts all have to play at Paradise.
