Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s game against St Johnstone. After the 2-1 win over Rangers last weekend took Celtic six points clear at the top of the Cinch Premiership, Postecoglou’s men can go nine points clear with a win today as Rangers play tomorrow.

Despite the game against Rangers at Hampden next weekend, the manager has named an unchanged, strong team as he looks to allow St Johnstone little hope of a shock result.

In goals, Joe Hart continues. The Englishman has been impressive since arriving last summer from Tottenham. He did concede at Ibrox but was assured at the back as Celtic defended admirably throughout the second half.

The manager has named his preferred defensive four with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt resuming in the centre of defence with Josip Juranovic on the right and Greg Taylor on the left.

In midfield, Ange has decided to start Tom Rogic and Reo Hatate with captain Callum McGregor.

In attack, Giorgos Giakoumakis starts through the middle. He is ably supported by Jota on the right and Daizem Maeda on the left.

There is a place for Kyogo, albeit from the bench, who hasn’t featured since the Boxing Day win over today’s visitors.

Bench: Bain, Kyogo, Bitton, Abada, Turnbull, McCarthy, Guchi, Ralston.
