Team’s Up – Brendan names team for Chelsea clash, no Kühn

Brendan Rodgers had named his Celtic team for this evening’s friendly against Chelsea. The Scottish Champions play their final game of the USA tour at the Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana ahead of the Premiership season beginning next Sunday against Kilmarnock.

Nicolas Kühn is absent after picking up a knock but it appears his absence is precautionary more than anything sinister.

Brendan has decided to play what appears to be the strongest XI, taking into account the absences.

Kasper Schmeichel starts in goals. The Celtic No.1 impressed in the win over Man City.

Cameron Carter-Vickers starts in the central pairing with Liam Scales alongside Greg Taylor and Tony Ralston at fullback.

In midfield, Callum McGregor starts with Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.

In attack, Kyogo starts with Daizen Maeda on the left and James Forrest on the right.

Subs: Sinisalo, Bain, Lagerbielke, Palma, Yang, Holm, Kobayashi, Kwon, Anderson, Lawal, Murray, Dede, Welsh, Donovan, Turley, M Johnston.

Kühn is likely being rested after his impressive exploits in the win over Man City. The German winger scored twice and assisted once as Celtic beat Pep Guardiola’s side in North Carolina.
