Ange Postecoglou has named a strong attacking lineup for tonight’s game against FC Midtjylland, recalling Ryan Christie, Ismaila Soro and Odsonne Edouard to the starting XI.

In goals, Greek goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas continues in between the sticks after impressing in the first half of the friendly against Preston North End.

In defence, Postecoglou has named a defensive pairing of Stephen Welsh and Nir Bitton alongside full-backs Tony Ralston and Greg Taylor. The manager did not have a lot to choose from in terms of defenders and will be hoping that his attacking line up can outscore our Danish visitors.

In the midfield, Soro joins Celtic’s captain Callum McGregor in the centre of midfield. The pair are accompanied by David Turnbull in an advanced role while Ryan Christie is handed a start with new signing Liel Abada. It is unclear which side Christie and Abada will occupy but it is refreshing to see some first team players starting after a few pre-season friendlies of just youth players, emphasising that the team lacked depth.

In attack, Odsonne Edouard is preferred to Albian Ajeti.

On the bench for Celtic: Bain, Hazard, Griffiths, Ajeti, Rogic, Urhoghide, Shaw. Murray, Forrest, Henderson and Montgomery.

Come on Celtic!!
