Team’s Up – Diego Simeone names his Atletico team for Celtic clash

Diego Simeone has named his team for this evening’s UEFA Champions League clash against Celtic. The Argentine manager has collected runners up medals in the competition twice in his successful spell in charge of Atletico and he will be keen to ensure that they navigate this potentially hazardous away game.

Atletico Madrid Starting XI:

Atlético: Oblak; Molina, Witsel, Savic, Hermoso; Saúl Ñíguez, Koke, De Paul, Galan; Griezmann, Morata

Subs: Grbic (GK), Antonio Gomis (GK), Riquelme, Azpilicueta, Barrios, Cagliari Soyuncu, Correa, Marcos Llorente

The Celtic Starting XI: Hart; A. Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; O’Riley, McGregor, Hatate; Maeda, Furuhashi, Palma

Subs: Bain, Morrison, Lagerbielke, Phillips, Yang, Turnbull, Oh, Tomoki, Bernardo, Forrest, Ralston and Mickey Johnston.

The game kicks off at 8pm and is available to watch on TNT Sports 3, with coverage starting at 7:30pm.

Atletico have decided to wear shirts commemorating their shameful side’s 1974 European Cup Semi Final meeting with Celtic, where the Spaniards conducted themselves like thugs in the 0-0 home meeting, kicking Celtic players up and down the park. They would prevail 2-0 in the Spanish capital but justice would be done in the final with Bayern Munich winning, leaving the Atletico thngs empty-handed.

Get into them, Celtic.
