NEIL LENNON has named his starting XI for this afternoon’s match versus Hibs. With Rangers winning in the lunchtime kick-off, Celtic can reduce the gap at the top to just one point with a win while still having a game in hand. Following Thursday’s win over Riga in Latvia, the Irish manager has opted to make a couple of changes to the starting XI.
James Forrest has been ruled out injured, meaning Lennon has had to rotate the pack. Odsonne Edouard, who struggled in Latvia has dropped to the bench with Ajeti starting. The goalscorer in The Europa League third round, Elyounoussi, starts as well.
In goals, Vasilis Barkas starts hoping to follow up the clean sheet versus Riga with another today. In defence, Nir Bitton, Shane Duffy and Kris Ajer start in a back three with Greg Taylor and Jeremie Frimpong occupying the wing back roles.
Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie make up the midfield three with the two attacking options comprising of Moi Elyounoussi and his former Basel teammate Albian Ajeti.
The notable absence for Celtic is that Odsonne Edouard has been named on the bench. He is joined on the bench with Bain, Griffiths, Soro, Klimala, Rogic, Ntcham, Edouard and Elhamed. It is a boost to see Griffiths and Rogic back on the bench and hopefully they see some game time today.
Hibs, who drew with Rangers at Easter Road last week, will be hoping to end the ten year wait for a win at Celtic Park.
