Team’s Up – Greg Taylor starts for Scotland against France

Steve Clarke has named his Scotland team for this evening’s friendly against France. Scotland go into the game in high spirits after their qualification to the UEFA European Championships was confirmed on Sunday. The Tartan Army are in Lille for the game against Didier Deschamps side, who are one of the favourites for the tournament next summer.

Greg Taylor starts from the off, slotting in at left wingback given the absences in that role for Scotland. Meanwhile, his captain at Celtic, Callum McGregor is on the bench – which is good because he’s seldom given a rest.

In goals, Motherwell’s Liam Kelly starts.

In defence, Jack Hendry, Liam Cooper and Scott McKenna start in the central trio. Taylor starts at left wingback with Nathan Patterson on the right.

In midfield, Scott McTominay starts in alongside Kenny McLean and Billy Gilmour with Lewis Ferguson likely occupying the advanced role.

In attack, Southampton striker Che Adams starts.

On the bench: Gunn, Clark, Souttar, McGregor, McGinn, Dykes, Christie, Porteous, Armstrong, Brown, Johnston.

Clarke will be keen to see how a number of his players fare in the glare of the starting XI. There are spaces available on the plane and the players that are over in France will be keen to keep themselves in the manager’s thoughts ahead of next summer.
