Team’s Up – Idah and Bernardo start, Kyogo & Kuhn on Bench

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Premiership clash against St Mirren. The Scottish Champions are in Paisley to face off against the Buddies and will do so without Matt O’Riley, who edges closer towards a £30m exit.

Rodgers has made two changes from the win over Hibs with Paulo Bernardo coming in for O’Riley and Adam Idah coming in for Nicolas Kuhn, meaning Daizen Maeda will shift into the flank.

In goals, Kasper Schmeichel starts.

In front of the Great Dane sits a back four comprising Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor.

In midfield, Callum McGregor is joined by Reo Hatate and Bernardo.

In attack, Idah starts through the middle with Maeda and James Forrest out wide.

Subs: Sinisalo, Palma, Kyogo, Kühn, Yang, Holm, Ralston, Welsh, Turley.

The manager will not be best pleased if the club fail to strengthen in the final week of the transfer window given the loss of O’Riley means we will be weaker than last year. Celtic have been linked with Bogusz and Engels, who have a combined value of £17m. Rodgers has said he wanted to strengthen defensively, too with Trusty from Sheffield United offering an option at LB and LCB. However, the club would still be after a winger or another striker.
