Team’s Up – Jimmy Thelin names Aberdeen XI for Celtic clash

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin has named his team for this afternoon’s game against Celtic. Brendan Rodgers’ side sit at the top of the table but only goal difference separates the sides after both sides have won all seven of their opening league games.

Thelin, who arrived from Elfsborg in the summer, has named his side as he looks to end an Aberdeen run of 25 games without a win against Celtic.

Mitov, Devlin, Molloy, Rubezic, MacKenzie, Shinnie, Nilsen, Clarkson, Keskinen, Nisbet, McGrath.

Subs: Doohan, Duk, Besuijen, Palaversa, Sokler, Morris, Milne, MacDonald, Ambrose.

Elsewhere, Brendan has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s game but there is no return for Cameron Carter-Vickers, who returns to fitness.

Schmeichel, Johnston, Trusty, Scales, Valle, McGregor, Hatate, Engels, Kuhn, Maeda, Kyogo.

Subs: Sinisalo, Palma, Idah, Yang, McCowan, Welsh, Bernardo, Forrest, Ralston.

The game kicks off at 3pm (Celtic Park Time) but the match will not be shown on TV due to the 3pm blackout with Celtic prioritising the match going fan over £75k to have the game moved for Premier Sports.

  1. Yet another example of how vulnerable our defence really is. Allowing opponents goal side of them, inept at dealing with high balls and lacking in pace. How long does Rodgers need to sort this out!!!
