Team’s Up – Nawrocki and Turnbull start for Flag Day

Brendan Rodgers has named his team for this afternoon’s game to face Ross County. The Scottish Champions will have the flag unfurled by James Forrest prior to kicking off in defence of the trophy.

The Irishman has named a strong team and has decided to bench two of Ange Postecoglou’s favourites, Reo Hatate and Carl Starfelt.

In goals, Joe Hart starts.

In defence, Tony Ralston starts with Greg Taylor in the full back berths. Maik Nawrocki and Cameron Carter-Vickers start at the heart of the Celtic defence.

In midfield, Matt O’Riley and David Turnbull join Celtic skipper Callum McGregor.

In attack, Kyogo starts through the middle with Daizen Maeda on the left and Liel Abada on the right.

On the bench: Bain, Starfelt, Yang, Holm, Oh, Kwon, Tomoki, Hatate and Forrest.

Surprisingly, there is no place for Alexandro Bernabei in the squad after his performance against Athletic Club. Turnbull and O’Riley were impressive in the middle and they’ve been rewarded with a place in the starting XI.

There is sufficient firepower on the bench should the current team fail to breakdown the Staggies.
