Team’s Up – O’Riley captains Hoops for DC test

Brendan Rodgers has named the Celtic starting XI for the first pre-season game of their USA tour. The Scottish Champions face off against MLS outfit DC United in Washington as the preparations for the beginning of the Premiership season ramp up.

In goals, Scott Bain starts. The Scottish goalkeeper will likely be replaced at the half way point to allow new signing Sinisalo to make his first appearance for the club.

In defence, Liam Scales partners Stephen Welsh with Colby Donovan and Matthew Anderson in the fullback berths.

In midfield, Matt O’Riley skippers the side. The Dane is accompanied by Tomoki Iwata and Reo Hatate.

In attack, Kyogo leads the line with Luis Palma and Nicolas Kühn in the wide areas.

On the bench: Sinisalo, Clarke, Oluwayemi, Clarke, Taylor, Lagerbielke, Yang, Holm, Kobayashi, Kwon, Lawal, McGregor, Murray, Forrest, Dede, Ralston and Mikey Johnston.

There are a number of first team players that we will get a glimpse of in the game – such as skipper Callum McGregor; however, there is no Kasper Schmeichel, who is due to join up with the squad shortly.

The game kicks off at 12:30am (Celtic Park Time) and is available to watch on Celtic TV.
