Tony Docherty has named his Dundee team for this afternoon’s Cinch Premiership match against Celtic. The Dees had the 23rd off after a contentious decision by the match officials to postpone due to a waterlogged pitch.

Now, Docherty will be hoping that his rested side will be able to spring a surprise.

Dundee: Carson, Kerr, Beck, Shaughnessy (C), McGhee, Bakayoko, Cameron, McCowan, Rudden, Boateng, Donnelly

Subs: Legzdins, Tiffoney, Pineda, Ashcroft, Mulligan, Robinson, Robertson, Howley, Sylla.

Elsewhere, Rodgers named the same Celtic team that started in the win over Livingston.

Hart, A.Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O’Riley, Bernardo, Maeda, Palma, Kyogo.

Subs: Bain, Yang, Turnbull, Oh, Kwon, Forrest, Ralston, Welsh, M.Johnston.

The game kicks off at 3pm and is live on Sky Sports Football with coverage starting at 2:45pm. Celtic have had two visits to Dens Park on Boxing Day in recent years, two 2-0 wins – 2012 and 2017. Hopefully, the Scottish Champions can warm up for the Glasgow Derby with a win over Dundee.

Meanwhile Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged side from the team that defeated Livingston on Saturday at Celtic Park. The Celtic support will be full of festive cheer today, judging by the early start of the buses this morning! Hopefully they are all joyful and triumphant at ten to five!
