Time is ticking, but we’ve got to be positive…

It’s now ten days into the transfer window and we’ve failed to make a signing thus far. There has been a few outgoings with Yosuke Ideguchi leaving on a permanent deal to Japanese Champions Vissel Kobe, with Celtic actually making a small profit on the player, and the likes of Gustaf Lagerbielke and Alexandro Bernabei also look to be heading out on a temporary basis.

Maybe the club are just clearing the decks before we commit to any potential new additions? Here’s hoping because with five members of our squad away on international duty we are light on numbers, especially up front.

There is of course still another three weeks left to negotiate any signings, so we need to be patient, but with our board’s apparent lackadaisical attitude when it comes to incomings it’s understandable folk are impatient.

I wouldn’t use the fact that we haven’t been heavily linked with anyone to have cause for concern as we very rarely, if ever, update the media on our transfer targets.

But the fact remains we do need new faces in our squad, and quality ones at that. Hopefully we are working hard behind the scenes to get the required players in. Because if the window shuts and we haven’t brought in new faces, and the right ones at that, then the pressure will mount on the board.
