After the pause for the international break Fran Alonso has got his players back and is preparing for Sunday’s SWPL1 match against Partick Thistle. For both sets of players its probably a chance for them to impress their respective managers as they look ahead to their Scottish Cup semi-finals which of course will be played on Sunday 1 May.

So for Celtic fans who like to watch The Celtic FC Women side play there’s a double clash with these games with the Scottish Cup semi-final against theRangers at Hampden this Sunday then the final Glasgow derby of the season, this time at Celtic Park on 1 May.

Surely it would be worth pushing back the women’s Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and Hearts at Falkirk to Bank Holiday Monday 2 May and therefore increase the chances of getting a decent crowd in would be much higher as indeed would the television audience?

Playing games like this semi-final up against a massive Glasgow Derby makes little to no sense at all and surely it’s not too late to make the adjustment to allow the supporters to enjoy both games and raise the profile of the women’s Scottish Cup further?

Anyway as it’s an away game this weekend there’s no media conference with Fran Alonso but The Celtic FC Women manager has been speaking to Celtic TV and you can catch this below…
