The exciting Celtic players we’re looking forward to watching this season…
Celtic are once again at the top of the league and have already beaten theRangers convincingly in the first Glasgow Derby of the season. Brendan Rodgers’ side is already strong favourites to win yet another league title and will be confident that they can make an impression in the Champions League too. To achieve this, they’ll need to be at the top of their game all season and have some real stand out performers starring throughout just like you can be a standout player when playing casino online.
With each new season brings optimism and excitement that this year there will be success and trophies. To achieve this, both new and existing players will really need to take that next step and push themselves to take Celtic up to the next level.
With the new players coming in, let’s take a look at the exciting Celtic players to look forward to this up and coming season.
Kasper Schmeichel
When Joe Hart signed for Celtic he was very much towards the end of his career, however he still had a few great seasons with Celtic before hanging up his gloves. You do feel like Kasper Schmeichal is in the same boat, however just like Hart, he’s still very much got something to offer.
Now 37, you’d expect him to play for a few seasons with the hoops before finishing his playing career, however with all his experience being a premier league winner and numerous appearances for Denmark, we feel Celtic have picked up a real gem here to replace Hart.
Opportunities will also be provided to younger goalkeepers probably in the cup competitions to give them a chance to prove their worth and gain vital experience, but expect Casper to start the season between the sticks.
Paulo Bernardo
On loan at Celtic last season, he’s now decided to make the move from Benfica on a five year deal which will excite fans. In his first season, Bernardo played nineteen times last season for Celtic and managed to score three goals and provide three assists and will be hoping to improve on this next season.
At only twenty two, Bernardo is still very much at the beginning of his career and will be hoping he can push on at Celtic and showcase his talent on the big stage. Under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers who has worked with some of the best midfielders in the premier league whilst working with Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester, he’s worked with some top midfield talents and will hopefully be able to help Bernardo to be at his best.
Kyogo Furuhashi
Heading into his fourth season and currently in the prime of his career, Furuhashi will be hoping for another successful season with Celtic. Scoring eleven goals and getting four assists in 33 games is down on the season before where he managed to score an impressive 23 goals in two less games, so he will be hoping to rediscover his form and get back to the level he knows he can play at.
Now 29, Furuhashi is at the peak of his powers, and with new players arriving to support, hopefully he can have one of his best seasons yet.
Callum McGregor
McGregor is a true Celtic boy through and through, signed through the academy in 2009, he’s gone on to play every season since and is still going strong today. Despite lifting multiple trophies, the desire is still very much there to push himself and hold down a starting spot, fighting off younger players coming through.
McGregor is the perfect example and role model for younger players who are coming through the youth team to keep your head down and work hard, and a spot in the team may open up for you.
Nicolas Kuhn
Signed this year, Kuhn is also ready to hopefully help Celtic take that next step. Still only 24, he’s at the perfect age for a winger and can hopefully add some flair and pace to this already great Celtic team. Taking on defenders and creating chances for his teammates, as mentioned above he could be the perfect teammate for Furuhashi and could help get the best out of him.
It’s a big season for Kuhn and we’re excited to see how he gets on.
Arne Engels
Celtic’s £11m deadline day record signing made his debut for the Scottish Champions, coming off the bench in last weekend’s 3-0 Glasgow Derby win over theRangers. Then the classy midfielder joined up with the Belgium national side and is in line to make his first cap. Engels is of course Brendan Rodgers’ choice to replace Matt O’Riley, who left the club in a £26m move to Brighton. Engels will be looking to make the Celtic support as excited about his performances as they were about the classy Dane.
Celtic have a massive season ahead and Brendan Rodgers will not only be looking to make an impact on the league but also in Europe too. Which player are you looking forward to seeing most?
It’s more of an area within our team, with the 6 players involved that currently has my biggest attention towards contributing this season.
The area in question is that one which involves Scales, Taylor and Hatate?
Not questioning the involvement of the players whatsoever, but it will be interesting to see what Trusty, Valle and McCowan have to offer ourselves within the same areas when called upon?
It’s not totally decided as to which 3 out of the 6 will be regarded as our strongest and best within that area of our team at present?
Even if McCowan will need to produce something very special on a consistent basis to take the position away from Hatate, all the same imo?
Already seen that scales and Taylor aren’t going to give up there current positions easily, and a very welcome sight to be seeing also.
Would expect opposition teams to be trying to target that area within our CL campaign, and in turn, if we remain solid and still able to provide an attacking threat from that area within our team?
Could well determine just how successful our CL campaign is going to be for ourselves?
But won’t be long now until Rodgers actually makes the call upon which 3 are going to be considered our strongest available within that area of our team, especially as there are a number of alternatives available at present by the looks of things?
