“The club looks like a shambles and Celtic are drifting,” The fact that scares Charlie Nicholas

“Peter Lawwell should step down with immediate effect and allow the Celtic rebuild to start now rather than in the summer,” Charlie Nicholas states in his weekly column in the Daily Express. “Celtic need to clear the decks. Waiting until 1 July solves nothing and actually causes more problems.

Nicholas sets out the very obvious questions that are currently concerning us all.

“Who will be making the big decisions until then? Who decides who the manager is next season?

“Who is doing the transfers and the deals before Dominic McKay comes in as the new chief executive?

Where managers are appointed….

He goes on to point out that little if anything is going to change at the club with Lawwell in charge and the unsackable Neil Lennon taking charge of the team. Anyone actually looking forward to the game tonight? Nope, didn’t think so.

“Celtic’s season has been a disaster but nothing is going to change when the same personnel are calling the shots. It doesn’t look like Neil Lennon will be going anywhere until the season ends and it is the same with Lawwell.” Nicholas notes. “Celtic can’t rebuild until they have a new manager and chief executive in position.”

And he is 100% correct, dangerous territory for us when we as a support find ourselves agreeing with Charlie Nicholas! And there’s more!

“Major change is needed and I would warn people at Celtic to fasten their seat belts for the next few months because it is going to be a bumpy ride.

The outcome….(Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images)

“The fact that Lawwell helped to select McKay from Scottish Rugby as his replacement scares me. Why was he picked? Has this been railroaded in?

“The club looks like a shambles and Celtic are drifting. The team is falling further and further behind Rangers, as we saw with last weekend’s defeat to St Mirren at Parkhead.”

This should worry the in-coming new CEO, whose reputation is being tarnished in advance because of the disintegration of any remaining respect for Lawwell among a huge percentage of the Celtic support. Lawwell promised the Celtic support a review in the New Year of the managerial situation and after an awful January for the club all we have is silence and a broken promise from a CEO and a Board we can no longer trust.

The replacement

THEY ARE NOW REGARDED AS BEING THE ENEMY WITHIN OUR CLUB. Have you see the Lennon out protest on the responses to the Celtic social media activity? It is devastating for Celtic Football Club. This cannot continue.

Where is the Review Peter?

The consequence
