Celtic supporters always come up with some brilliant songs for our players, one or two make it to the stands and are heard at games…

Remember the likes of the Scotty Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong songs, both were exceptional.

Curiously players like James Forrest and Tom Rogic never really got a song of their own. I’m sure that we published some articles on The Celtic Star trying to get a song for Jamesy and Big Tam and there were some crackers, but none were really successful in terms of transferring onto the stands.

Arne Engels spoke about Celtic fans changing the Robbie Williams Angels lyrics for him, no sign of that one happening and to be honest it might be for the best!

Now this young Celtic supporter has come up with an amended version of Abba’s Gimme a Man after Midnight to create her suggestion for a Daizen Maeda song and you know what, it might just take off and a speed that would be appropriate for Daizen, who is now getting the recognition that he deserves.

What’s brilliant about Daizen is that he is at his best in European games and in matches against theRangers – whereas it’s usually these games that decent players at Scottish Premiership level might struggle. Not Daizen. It was great to hear Brendan talk so positively about him on Friday and it would be brilliant if the support deem the ‘Gimme, Gimme, Gimme Daizen Maeda’ song worthy of an addition to our song book.

Much better that feeble attempts at starting ‘There’s only one Tom Rogic…James Forrest…Daizen Maeda’.

Have a listen and tell us what you think?
