Auldheid has just outlined an alternative route for the Joint Fan Organisation group who released a detailed statement yesterday outlining how this wish to proceed against what they regard as ongoing failures in the Celtic boardroom.

It’s fair to say that the feedback that the group has received on social media since posting their statement has been mostly negative but there’s words of wisdom coming their way from Auldheid, a man who has a proven track record of holding the Celtic Board (among others!) to account. Here are Auldheid’s thoughts on the matter….

“The only instrument of accountability is the Celtic AGM,” Auldheid argues.

“A resolution that asks a justifiable question or makes a justifiable point requires a justifiable response. The question or statement is published in AGM papers and SMSM cover it making it public.

“Celtic don’t like that if the question or statement focuses on something they wish to remain secret. If they cannot justify their response based on evidence presented and justify decision by providing misleading answers with impunity, the opportunity for accountability is lost and nullifies an aim of a AGM.

“It is also a route that is not divisive if a reasonable point is made in a manner where the majority reading would judge it fair. It keeps it separate from the football side which most supporters want to focus on and gets results if Celtic held to account for delivering promises,” Auldheid advised.

The Joint Fan Organisation could do much worse than listen to Auldheid, maybe even ask for his help in achieving their objectives without causing such a negative reaction among the support.
