HAVE you watched Neil Lennon’s press conference yet? Celtic TV were getting a bit of stick earlier in the week for putting more content on You Tube and also on the official site, but surely it’s an excellent move?
And there is also the player interview from earlier today with Nir Bitton, a player of course who Neil Lennon signed for Celtic.
“It’s a bit more settled now,” Lenny admitted.
“I’m enjoying it and getting used to the way things are run now. I’m getting used to the training and organisation side of things, and I’m loving it. I’m really enjoying it.
“There are so many staff here I’ve known since the last time. The set-up and some of the facilities here are a little bit different.
“Ultimately, the common goal is to get the team ready for the game.
“It’s a privilege to walk out at Celtic Park as manager again so I’m looking forward to it. It means a lot to me and I’m looking forward to the moment. Once the moment’s passed, then full focus will be on the game.”
The players have had their first midweek without a game for the first time this year and other that the few weeks around the winter break they have been playing two games a week since early July. That though is something that they don’t need to worry about for the rest of this season.
One game a week will allow the players to rest up and prepare for each game, starting with Aberdeen tomorrow.
“Obviously things have settled down a bit now,” Lenny said.
“We’ve had a nice week and more time with the players on the training ground. The most important facet is that the players are okay and ready to go again.
“Derek (McInnes) is a brilliant manager and will have something up his sleeve for us, I’m sure. We’ve done a lot of work on Aberdeen in terms of how they’ve played against us in previous games and what we need to do to overcome what will be a difficult hurdle. If we win then it’s just ticking off another game and going forward.
“What these players have achieved with seven trophies out of seven is perfect. The personality of the group is very, very good.”
Lenny spoke about the senior players who impressed him when he travelled up to Forfar earlier in the week to watch the Celtic Development side beat Dundee 6-0. Both Scott Allan and Marvin Compper impressed their new boss and with Celtic’s injury problems both could feature before the season ends.
