Celtic is bigger and better in every department, they just refuse to admit it…
Today theRangers start the search for their third manager in as many years and their seventh in their eleven year history. Yes this basket case of a football club is looking for yet another hero who can lead them to glory. Poor soul whoever it turns out to be.
Michael Beale like Van Bronckhorst, Stevie G, Pedro and Warbs before him, was handed the mammoth and unrealistic task of restoring theRangers to their ‘rightful’ place in Scottish football. Each and everyone of them failed although Stevie G and Van Bronckhorst did at least win a solitary trophy apiece, but in all truthfulness they were fighting a losing battle from day one.
Why? Well it’s pretty obvious to everyone outside theRangers supporters and the Scottish mainstream media. Firstly theRangers have no ‘rightful place at the top of Scottish football’, between the two incarnations of them they have never been the top side in Scotland.
This century alone Celtic have been the most successful side in Scottish football. The premier side, the most successful. That’s just a fact. Oldco perished trying to emulate Celtic, that’s also the truth. The new club has also started life trying to emulate the dominant force in Scottish football, Celtic Football Club.
Over £100million spent in trying to topple us and all they have to show for it is a few lower league honours and two major honours, only one won before an audience. St Johnstone have won more major honours in that period.
The problem theRangers have is the unrealistic expectations that exist between the boardroom and the supporters. Both are expecting the impossible and think that they should be better than Celtic. But how is that going to be achieved? None of them has the answer to that question.
Egged on by a boot licking media, they all reckon that theRangers should be where Celtic’s at. Thus every new manager is seen as a messiah and the man who will bring back the glory from the past, something that won’t happen, especially with their structure.
Celtic are the most successful side in Scotland. We beat them on that aspect on and off the park. We win things on it, and off it we are light years ahead of them financially. That’s a fact that theRangers board, the supporters and the media just won’t admit.
When Celtic were in dire straights in the early nineties they restructured. We had a plan, our own plan. We knew what we wanted and wanted what was best for us, not to be like someone else. We still to this day stick to that structure and we reap the rewards by being consistently successful.
That’s the problem with theRangers and their supporters. They try to be like us and they constantly fail. They won’t admit that Celtic are miles better than them, that they are second best. They just don’t see it, and they never will.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
