KRISTOFFER AJER has given Brendan Rodgers a boost ahead of the busiest period in the season with the news that he could be back playing in just 4 weeks.

The 20 year old Norwegian suffered a horrible injury to his eye socket on Sunday at Livingston and was operated on yesterday.

The former midfielder joked on social media afterwards that he now looked like a proper Scottish defender and seemed to be in good spirits despite what must have been a very difficult week for the Bhoy.

Now he’s given a little more information on how the operation went and the good news that he could be back playing much quicker than initially thought.

“Everything went well and I can start working out again in a week,” he said.

“All I need to be careful about at first is that I avoid contact exercises.

“The plan is that I can play football again in four to six weeks.

“There were three fractures and titanium plates were put in.

“The surgeon operated the tear through the mouth, fixed the fracture over the eye by cutting a bit of the eyebrow.

“Then he had to lower under the eyelid to fix the fracture under the eye.

“The surgeon was very pleased when I spoke to him afterwards.

“Never before have I looked harder. Finally, I look like a Scottish central defender.”
