Joe Hart has given his thoughts on Celtic’s shock defeat to Kilmarnock in the League Cup.
Celtic’s trip to Rugby Park last weekend ended in heartbreak as the Hoops crashed out of the League Cup. An all-around poor performance joint with some dodgy refereeing decisions allowed Killie to beat the Hoops 1-0. In any case, the Celtic keeper admits that it wasn’t a great showing for the Bhoys, but adds that the only consultation is that it allows more time for Celtic to focus on the Scottish Premiership. Speaking to Celtic TV, Hart said…
“Obviously, we were disappointed. It wasn’t a great showing and also to go out of a cup we’ve been very successful in recently is disappointing. But another great opportunity to get back at it and push in the league.”
That is little comfort or consolation for the travelling Celtic support who backed the team brilliantly at Rugby Park or the fans watching the match on television. The players have an opportunity to make it up to the support with to wins in the Scottish Premiership this Saturday against St Johnstone at Celtic Park then next weekend against theRangers at Ibrox. Six points from those two games will certainly cure the Rugby Park hangover.
