Transfer Latest – Celtic make surprise late-night double signing announcement

Celtic FC Women have made two more signings on deadline day, with Emma Lawton and Morgan Cross joining the club with experience in the Scottish Women’s Premier League…

Emma Lawton

Lawton joins from Partick Thistle, where she earned her place in the PFA Scotland SWPL Team of the Year last campaign. She was a regular starter in Brian Graham’s side and has impressed so much that she earned a call-up to Scotland’s under-23s after her brilliant form.

Cross joins from Motherwell after 12 months with the SWPL side and finishes her time at the Women of Steel with 10 goals to her name. Last season, she played a pivotal role in helping her side to stay in the top flight, and she has continued to impress this season, even netting against Celtic in the Scottish champion’s 5-1 victory.

Now, they both join up with Elena Sadiku’s squad ahead of their return to domestic action on Sunday. The squad is certainly looking even stronger now with these two promising young players now in the Hoops.

Welcome to Celtic, Emma Lawton and Morgan Cross!

  1. Lawton is a wecome addition a real warrior on the pitch , would have been much better though if we had signed a left sided defender as Munoz seems to be a bit of a sick note and we dont imo have anyone else who can do a proper defensive role there , Hail hail .

  2. Why are Celtic playing games in Airdrie? Surely they could either utilise CP or some excellent junior team grounds in the east end of the city.
