The south-Korean striker, Cho Gue-Sung, has revealed that he is still unsure where his future in football lies and has reopened the door to a possible move to Celtic this January.
With the departure of Giorgos Giakoumakis from Celtic this month, the Hoops targeted Cho Gue-Sung to fill the gaps made by Giakoumakis’ absence. However, the successful signing of Gue-Sung started to look unlikely as he stated that he wanted to remain at his current club, Jeonbuk, until the Summer. He also said that his preferred move was to the Bundesliga, to play for Mainz. This quickly fell apart though, as Mainz refused to meet Jeonbuk’s desired transfer fee, resulting in Mainz withdrawing from the deal.
Celtic and Minnesota Utd put in a bid for the south-Korean striker, but Cho later told south-Korean Media that he intended to remain at his club until the Summer, where more options would possibly open up to him.
Cho has now come forward to reopen the door to a possible transfer this January, as he is unsure whether interest in him will last until the Summer, and it remains his ambition to play in Europe.
As reported by Football Scotland, Cho explained: “The transfer market is not over yet. I cannot give a definite answer about whether I will still be at the club after this window”
“I’m not in peak shape in the winter because I haven’t played since the World Cup. I know if I went and signed for a European club, I would have to compete with players who are in 100 per cent physical condition.”
“But on the other hand, if I wait until the summer, there not be the same interest in me from the clubs who want me now. So no decision has been made.”
I hope we have chased this waste of space.
We want people who actually have the desire to play for a World renowned football club.
Let him go where he wants because l can see he will be a problem if/when things don’t go his way.
Hopefully,we have dodged a bullet here 💚
