Celtic have today been the subject of another transfer story. The transfer feed has been buzzing of late with who Ange Postecoglou might fancy to continue rebuilding this Celtic side. Today sees the football club linked with a move for Stade Brest goalkeeper, Marco Bizot.

Bizot, 30, has failed to settles since his move to Brittany in the summer from Az Alkmaar and the club and player may be both looking to part company after only a few short months. The Dutchman has only amassed 90 minutes of football in 13 appearances for the French outfit, meaning he may look to cut his losses with the Ligue 1 side.

Likewise, the club itself are looking to severe ties but are also looking for a purchase option in the inevitability of a loan deal that should transpire in the January transfer window. The report from Homme du Match states:

“In difficulty since the start of the season, the Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot could leave the Stade Brestois as quickly as he arrived. The player who has never fully adapted to Brittany is indeed in the sights of Celtic Glasgow, who wants to secure his services this winter.

“According to our information, the Scottish club are studying the possibility of obtaining a loan from the player first in January, an idea that will not suit Brest residents who will see no interest in it, unless a compulsory purchase option is not be included in the deal for next summer.”

It is of no surprise that we are being linked with a goalkeeper in the lead up to the winter transfer window opening, as it is widely accepted that Ange will be looking to move on Vassilios Barkas after the Greek’s nightmare stay in Scottish football with Celtic. The big ‘keeper just hasn’t managed to find his fit and gain any momentum in a Celtic jersey and a separation would be best for all involved.

Scott Bain is second in command to Joe Hart at the minute, but I dread to think what would happen if anything ruled Joe out for a sustained period of time from that Celtic goal. Bain has done marginally better than Barkas when he has come in, with questions still hanging over his ability to stop the ball flying into his net – regardless of his ability with the ball at his feet.

The question now remains if Ange has earmarked Bizot as his number two?
