Fabrizio Romano has named a new right-back target as Ange Postecoglou looks to sign a new first pick fullback. Rennes’ Brandon Soppy remains a target but the transfer specialist has named Buta as a potential candidate to fill the defensive vacancy.
Aurélio Buta from Royal Antwerp is another impressive option that is still in his formative years but could make a splash with Celtic. The 24-year-old still has a year left at the Belgian club but the Portuguese full-back would be an impressive acquisition for the Parkhead side.
The player has gained interest from a number of teams with Wolves failing in a £5m bid for the player 18 months ago with the player opting to remain in Belgium.
However, the former Benfica youth prospect could look at moving up the rungs of football with a move to Glasgow’s East End. Buta is aggressive, attacking and quick. He would probably resemble Jeremie Frimpong in terms of style – keen to get forward and maybe more of a wingback.
Celtic are looking for a new right back after agreement completed to sign Carl Starfelt as centre back from Rubin Kazan. 🏴 #Celtic

Romano also detailed that Starfelt will be arriving to sign immediately but deleted the Tweet shortly thereafter. Hopefully this deal will be announced as soon as possible.
Elsewhere today, Celtic’s new signing Kyogo Furuhashi scored on his final appearance for Vissel Kobe. The 26-year-old pounced on the 30th minute and the Celtic fans will be looking forward to welcoming him to Glasgow.
