Two more signings after Idah makes Celtic stronger than last season

According to Sky Sports Celtic have at long last made an improved bid for Norwich striker Adam Idah…

Details of the bid haven’t been disclosed, but I’d expect it to be in the region of £6 million considering our last bid of £4 million was understandably turfed out by the Canaries.

We need a striker as we only have Kyogo available to us at the moment, and Adam certainly wants to come back to Celtic after enjoying a successful, memorable and successful four month loan spell at the end of last season.

Everything is there for the club to do a deal, and the only thing stopping it from happening is the willingness of our own club to pay an acceptable price for the striker.

They tried the low ball offer approach, but that didn’t work. Now there appears to be an agreement in the offing with Norwich now getting a deal that they can live with. Celtic has the resources available and if we want top players such as Adam Idah at the club then we have to pay the going rate.

Time will tell if our improved offer is accepted by Norwich, we’re not going to count canaries just yet, but the fact we are going back in is a positive sign. Let’s hope we can get a deal done in the coming days. What’s encouraging is that ITK Norwich fans are saying that the deal is now happening as they look towards their own signing targets.

Meanwhile this point made by prominent Celtic Twitter account @aboutceltic is well worth mentioning…

“Look, I’m delighted we’re finally moving towards bringing Idah in and I don’t want to be Mr Negative however…Celtic bringing in Idah would only bring us to where we were as we ended last season minus Oh who has left. We still haven’t strengthened our squad, let’s hope for more.”

However this is great news, let’s get it over the line and get Adam Idah back in the Hoops, but there’s more needed and hopefully Brendan will be given the backing he deserves over the next three weeks.

  1. Think the fans are blaming it on board for not winning ten in a row we had a t good enough to win league but the snp sfa threw us under the bus we never recovered from penalties then now support to make us feel good lennon losing his head was bad injuries where hurtful it was a terrible time for football we had to play cause teams would have liquidated

    • So board are getting blamed again trying to get a player of the class we are looking for is biding there time spl isn’t a good incentive for to intise a player we want but champions league is. If we can hold on to our good players and I don’t c why not they will be just as good even better with Rodgers coaching he improves players we are a good team one or two top players in to improve for europe

  2. Bit of a ridiculous statement to be making imo?
Plus I don’t know why so many of our so called supporters are so happy to question the quality of our squad at present?
Nothing more than an attack upon our players, is how it needs to be viewed imo?
We currently have a provisional squad in operation, that just happens to be playing some wonderful football?
And to a far higher standard that was on show for the best part of last season?
Yet trying to promote the lie that we are weaker, while playing better football?
Never heard such shite, and it’s all the boards fault?
Squad depth isn’t an issue either at present, as already have more than the 25man squad that’s required?
So currently looking at strengthening with hopefully stronger options, than what are currently in the positions within our squad?
The way some are carrying on, they might as well just name the player and call him all the useless names under the sun?
Shocking carry on from so called supporters?
If Rodgers intends to replace certain players currently within our squad, then it’s part of the game, and Rodgers job also?
Anderson and Monty might as well leave now, especially as they have been totally disregarded already, because apparently we haven’t even got another LB?
Is there any point in Taylor even signing a new contract, because when another potential should join, then it’s going to be labelled as a waste of money if he isn’t seen as a better player than Taylor?
Is Taylor now that bad of a player that doesn’t deserve a new contract now, because we want better?
How many others are potentially upon the hitlist of useless duds that are representing our club?
We have a decent manager in place, who’s job it is in making the decisions upon who will be within our 25man squad, and who wont be?
But why look at that when the blame the board agenda takes preference, as if any of them are making the decisions involved for Rodgers?
By all means continue with this weaker than last season bullshit, because obviously younger players can’t improve, and established players can’t adjust to improve their game either?
Maybe I must have been watching an imitation Celtic team on show since the players returned for pre season along with the start of the season?
Starting to wonder if these so called supporters would be happy for our team to fail, just to prove themselves right?
Admittedly there will be possibly a few changes in where we are now to what we actually put together as a finalised squad, when the window actually shuts?
That doesn’t mean that any player who should end up missing out, has to be labelled as nothing but shite for ourselves?
Disgraceful and disgusting carry on at present upon our current players, in trying to hide it as attacks upon the board, who aren’t even making the decisions required at present imo?

    • Here! Here! Man City and the top teams like Real Madrid make a couple of signing per year the rest projects for the future. Barca brought the majority of their stars through from the academy. Celtic supporters seem hell bent on attacking their own club from every angle. They blamed SMSM for running negativity on Celtic and now SMSM sit back and repost comments from Celtic Fans.

Lawwell like you say has ZERO input – 99% of the supporters do not even know what the Chairman (we should state Non Executive chairman) does, he is not the Chief Executive. He chairs the board, the running of the club is the CE – the board are not signing players – they are not scouting players.

People are also forgetting that Celtic need quality not numbers and it is not easy getting quality when you are stuck in the SPL. We have the best squad in the league, we need to get rid of dead wood. Transfer window is open for 3 weeks and 23 hours so we have time,

Like you say they are using all they can to attack the board – one that has made Celtic the most successful team in Scotland this millennium and maybe soon to be ‘EVER’

  3. Jeezus! The 2 usual suspects are back again!

One wi a comma allergy & the other that still doesnae understand what TLDR stands for!
