Celtic are in Serbia to kick off their UEFA Europa League campaign against Red Star Belgrade. Brendan Rodgers’ side will kickoff against the Serbian side in their opening game of the league phase; however, two summer signings will be involved against Edinburgh City instead.
Summer signing from Fulham Callum Osmand and defender Hayato Inamura will be involved in the KDM Evolution Trophy for Stephen McManus’ B Team side.

Two other summer signings – Manchester City loanee Jahmai Simpson-Pusey and Shin Yamada – Will have a night at home with neither included in the Celtic squad submitted to UEFA. This begs the question as to why four Celtic summer signings are not present for the kickoff of the league phase in Europe.
A major complaint from Celtic supporters has been that the club have failed to effectively plan in the transfer market and sufficiently equip the manager for a team to compete with Europe’s elite. Now; Celtic will hope for a result in Belgrade but the support must continue to put pressure on the club to demand better.
