Changes are needed at the top, but ultimately the buck stops with Brendan and the players…

Yesterday’s result and performance was unacceptable. To get beat is one thing, but to go down without a fight is unforgivable, much the same as  last weekend’s defeat at Rugby Park.

That’s now two league losses in succession, and both times we played without desire and conviction, we were devoid of any ideas whatsoever. We looked very much like a side low on confidence and players could been seen not wanting to pass to teammates who were having stand-out shockers and were of course selected by the manager with his everyone gets a game in December plan ahead of the transfer window opening.

Forget it Brendan no-one is buying these duds.

We can’t defend and we can’t convert our chances, or create any for that matter, and that is a recipe for disaster. We are doing our upmost best to throw the league title away, you know the one with the richest prize ever.

At one point we were eight points clear, and now we can end the year in second place. That is very concerning.

We can talk all day about who is to blame and the board are taking most of the flak, and it’s totally justified. We need change at the top. We need a fresh injection of ideas, we need more investment in the player department. That can only be achieved by a clear out in the boardroom.

Those in charge are just happy with having a healthy bank balance, and the perks and bonuses that go with it. It’s all about protecting their own self interests. They care not a jot about how the side is performing.

But At the end of the day the buck stops with Brendan and the players. Both have to take their share of the blame. Brendan earns big bucks and he should be able to beat sides like Kilmarnock and Hearts with the players at his disposal. To be schooled off the likes of Stevie Naismith is not good enough and should be a source of intense embarrassment for Brendan.

As for the players, they also need to look at themselves in the mirror. They won a treble last year and currently look like a side battling for a place in the top six. They need to get out of the rut they are in and start performing or they can kiss goodbye to defending the title Celtic won the last two seasons. Have they got the stomach for it?

It’s looking very doubtful.
