Credit where it is due to Luis Palma who hasn’t been at his best since the winter break and came in for some criticism for his recent performances. Yesterday though, in what was a difficult fixture, Palma always looked a threat and set up both Kyogo for the opener and Matt O’Riley for the shot that rebounded off the crossbar for Daizen Maeda to finish perfectly to secure the victory and take Celtic into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup where we take on Livingston at Celtic Park.
Palma had been linked to a move to theRangers in the summer before Celtic paid the necessary transfer fee to secure the signature of the Honduran winger. He picked up a caution yesterday after falling while challenged inside the St Mirren box. How many of you thought that this is exactly the kind of penalty that we’ve seen awarded to theRangers so many times, but in a Celtic shirt it’s a yellow card.
That aside, Palma showed up, put his recent poor showing behind him and played a significant role in Celtic progressing in the Scottish Cup as a day at Hampden this season is now just 90 minutes away. Well done that Bhoy!
