YESTERDAY MORNING we published a message we received from Alex, a supporter of the Rangers, we asked for your feedback and promised to publish your responses to what he had to say.

If you missed his correspondence then you’ll want to catch up before reading on, so check out the link below…

And a reminder too of why Alex got in touch in the first place. It was as direct result of him reading this article on The Celtic Star which was the follow up to us looking at the exemplary behaviour of Celtic Supporters at three European Finals in Lisbon, Milan and Seville and then the contrast with the behaviour of the Rangers support in Barcelona in 1972 and Manchester in 2008, both as you will know ended in riots.

So you will have read Alex’s response yesterday or by reading on the link above this morning. Here are what Celtic Supporters have had to say to Alex after his correspondence was published on The Celtic Star…

Celtic Supporters’ Responses to Alex, the Rangers supporter who yesterday contacted The Celtic Star about the Riots in Manchester in 2008 and much more…

OPEN THE CURTAINS, ALEX

Alex, I know we’re socially distancing right now but you can open the curtains and let in daylight? What I find most laughable about his account is its lack of acquaintance with any kind of plot.

It’s like a glossary of risible excuse or anecdote, one after the other. The English and Irish amongst their number in Manchester, being voted down the leagues etc. We’ve heard all that stuff before. I’ll credit him though with one piece of new information. I didn’t know that noble, altruistic, outward looking Gers saved our skins. I’m struggling to compute that selfless act with the club that wanted the bank to pull their support of Celtic a few years later but hey ho, must be me.

What’s gross from Alex is his Jock Tamson’s Bairns appeal before doing the same as the most vile fans amongst their number do, make paedo references. They’re obsessed about that, Alex even manages to use it to describe Fergus, you’d better watch Alex, that’s gross and potentially defamatory and unlike your lot, Fergus normally is successful in his litigation!

That apart this makes Alex just another creep in my view. One who will attack Celtic anyway he can whilst looking the other way at anything which puts either of his two clubs in a bad light.

His point about tainted titles deserves no serious rebuttal so I won’t bother except to express a hope that even Alex in his quieter moments knows just how stupid his position is.

Open the curtains Alex, let the daylight in. Or don’t, it matters little.

WE PAID THE BILLS

The Rangers fan who wrote the piece this to you on their behaviour on these occasions – was it Alex Rae / Ally Mccoist or Steven Thompson? Does he not also realise at least we were saved, did not go into liquidation and paid all our bills? As to Trophies we will surpass the old Rangers soon and it is the Rangers that will never pass our trophy haul.

AN INCOHERENT DIATRIBE

Sounds very much like an incoherent diatribe of bile from someone who has little enjoyment in his life. Very sad indeed.

RANSACKED WOLVERHAMPTON, RAMPAGE IN NEWCASTLE

Alex, in 1974 when Celtic won the league for the 9th time in a row the league was reconstructed to stop us winning 10. The press at the time said it had to be done so that one team cannot be allowed to dominate Scottish football, for the good of the game.

Move on years later and Rangers win 9 in a row, no league reconstruction but the press say it’s a great achievement by a great club, no mention of its bad for Scottish football that one team dominates. So don’t tell me that the press or the SFA does us any favours, you were called (the H word) by a judge when your fans ransacked Wolverhampton, you went on another rampage in newcastle 1969 ,Barcelona 72, Manchester 2008 and a lot more before and after and every time it was someone else’s fault.

Further more to use a vile thing like child abuse to score points is sick in itself, so play the victim card all you like , it doesn’t wash with all decent fans not just Celtic. No one likes us we don’t care, my arse you are raging mate, so here’s to our 2nd 9-in-a-row and on our way to make it 10, stay safe big yin/ wee yin Hail Hail

John Caw

WHAT CAN WE SAY ABOUT ALEX?

Well what can we say about that…
Denial springs to mind
Denial that his team are still the same club
Denial that they were a disgrace in Manchester
Denial that the lower league years for them were not valid Championship years for us (they failed to win the lower division and got smacked off Motherwell, 6-1 in a play-off)

Poor deluded guy. Nothing bad to say about the guy but the Prado looking statement just shows his lack of class…

Robert McLean

FRENZIED SEETHING BUBBLING UNDER THE SURFACE

There is much to unpack in Alex’s retort. What we have here, in essence, is an attempt to strike a measured and objective tone, but, as with most bears, the frenzied seething is merely bubbling under the surface:

Whataboutery – Tick.
Victimhood – Tick.
Paedo-reference – Tick.

While I don’t advocate the savage beating of Gers fans for asking directions this example has the distinct pallor of a particularly insipid “Aye, but” from a floored man who already has his face in the canvas.

THEY CAUSED JOHN GREIG’S BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

As someone who has spent a lot of time in England, as someone who lived in Preston in 2008 (about 20-30 miles from Manchester) and as someone who was in Seville, I think I can comment on the response given by your Rangers supporting reader.

Firstly Seville. Estimates of 60-80 thousand Celtic fans, no arrests, speaks for itself and needs no qualification.

As for Manchester, there were riots in the town centre, and in the surrounding areas. There were fights and serious disorder in Blackpool some 8 miles further away than Preston, where I lived. The staple response of Glasgow’s uglies is that it was Chelsea, Blackburn, Wigan fans etc, in fact any team that wears blue.

An interesting aside is the bears will tell you there was 120k of them in Manchester but as soon as trouble started there seems to have been none of them.

I leave you with the sentiments of John Greig, who was being interviewed and was talking about what should have been his greatest moment. He said he was waiting in the changing room waiting to go back out for the presentation. In walked the UEFA delegates, asked him to come out, and said winners Rangers handed him the trophy in the bowels of the stadium and left. A moment he, the greatest ever Ranger, described as his biggest disappointment. His own fans caused that when they won!

I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS A SPOOF

I must say that at first glance I thought that this was a spoof from a Celtic fan as it contained so many of the paranoid traits that we have come to associate with the fans of the resurrected team from Govan.

Then it struck me; this was for real! He really meant every insane word – and at the same time thought he was being utterly fair-minded while giving out fairytales as if they were facts. Wow !

After a further reading, however, I realised that you had inadvertently picked up the latest STATEMENT from David Graham at Ibrokes and confused this (easy mistake to make) with the ramblings of a poor Gullibillie.

While the standard of comment has fallen since Jabba left the Big Hoose, it has to be said that the comedy value since the DUP man took over has increased ten-fold!

TYPICAL OF THE THINKING OF THESE PEOPLE

Deluded and typical of the thinking of these people, everyone to blame except themselves, at least he admitted their club is 8 years old with no trophies except one Petrofact Cup, they have no history, no class, no money and hopefully administration/liquidation coming soon again.

DARK TIMES AHEAD FOR YOUR CLUB

Alex, to quote were all Jock Tamson’s Bairns has many connotations, yes we’re all gods children but I feel your sentiment stretched it. I’m no child of the Kirk, therein lies the start of the problem. As a Catholic I am not welcome and worse I’m of Irish decent something even in the 21st century causes your club and support a problem.

Your club and support have been the shame of my nation since inception whether you regard that as 2012 or the bygone days, this was written and articulated well in the post you refer to. The one solace I have is the wider world know of our great support hence the affection and awards we receive, our club and charity work are world-renowned were welcomed where ever we travel.

Your reference to Fergus is shameful and highlights the ignorance of such subject.

To also reference óur League championship wins as somehow tainted due to your club not participating again shows limited intellect as you’d be as well saying Elgin wasn’t in the League as they may have given a sterner challenge as to RIFC in the last 4 years.

And lastly, in winning this year’s Championship can I highlight WINNING as it was not given it was won. You stay safe Alex in this Pandemic and the dark times ahead for you club.

THE PAIN IS FANTASTIC

Thanks for posting that response, the pain in that is fantastic, voted us down has me howling in tears of joy everytime, no greater pain known to man as their pain.

THE ‘IT WISNAE US’ BRIGADE

Firstly, no we weren’t there in Manchester in 2008 (why would we be there?) And to touch upon your there’s ‘more to it than meets the eye’ but I’m sorry but eye doesn’t lie with what was televised and reported in the media that day. But as usual it’s the ‘it wizny us brigade’ banging the drums AGAIN.

Let’s blame the English and Irish this time cos it wizny us haha. Give us a break big/wee man but I don’t know if you know this but we have English and Irish support as well stupid boy and I’m probably being biased but I’d say one of the most iconic and supported clubs the world over but that’s MY opinion.

Anyway the article was about what I can gather from it about the FANS and their respective teams and their behaviour in big finals so I’ll not get too much into all the other irrelevant rubbish you’ve dug up but as for tainted titles, you have 5 asterisks on your tops but someone can’t count because it should be more.

Whoever heard of a loan that you don’t need to pay back because I hate to say but I want one! And yes you are one of the most decorated clubs in the world but you have been around longer than most so it wasn’t rocket science that one.

And wee Fergus McCann our saviour, let’s leave that one there much to your annoyance that we’re still here haha, he came in and saved us from the brink, ploughed money in built that beautiful stadium, thus that atmosphere spoken about the world over by the world’s best then headed home back to Canada. Well all I can say is thank you to the man.

Anyway back on track. It’s safe to say that we’ve been to 3 finals and been lauded for it and you’ve been to 2 and its ended up in a riot (even when you won 1) hahahahahaha. Unfortunately we are from different sides of the same city and maybe do get tarnished by the same brush but those that know KNOW and I’m happy with that, so try and drag us into your muck because we’re all Scottish, is just down right ignorant. You are Scotland’s shame and alway will be and unfortunately for us we’re just going to have to live with that. (but for how long) haha, has your club produced their accounts yet for UEFA? That’s all from me and rant over!

Scott

JUST A LITTLE NOTE FOR ALEX

Just a little note for Alex. I had the dubious pleasure of being in Manchester in 2006, having agreed to work in the fan-zones earlier in the year before it became apparent who would be contesting the final.

We were to provide entertainment in the fan-zones at Piccalilli and Albert squares with Hexagol. Pictures of the Hexagol cells are clearly visable in photos of the day.
Our group arrived the day before the game and were welcomed to Manchester by Rangers fans (Scottish ones) singing “could you go a chicken supper Bobby Sands?” Outside the abode Hotel on Piccalilli St.

The three Celtic minded members of the group were now having a slight crisis of confidence but were persuaded to stick it out. We had a lovely meal in town and returned to the hotel after setting up our equipment.

The next day the already poisoned atmosphere had a more of an oppressive edge to it. The second wave were arriving and they were not on a peaceful Misson. It’s fair to say that the Manchester police had not accounted for the fact that relatively close proximity of Glasgow would enable the fifthly tide to break on their city quickly and cheaply.

Shops were being looted by late morning, staff threatened in some instances beaten, open drug use, the city centre as a whole used as a toilet. Groups of “men” in military style dress shaved headed and menacing patrolled the streets.

The 3 Celts decided we had seen enough and headed right off to a hotel about 15 miles outside the city. There we took some increasingly distressed calls from the rest of the group who had remained having told us it would be “Awrite”. It wasn’t.

On our return the following day we found all of our equipment (that was due at a football expo a few months later) wrecked beyond use. Our hire van left without a window and the added classy touch of hunan shite on the collapsed roof.

The number of our group that had tried to stay with the equipment, Rangers fans remember, told us sheepishly it was horrendous and they themselves had to bail before the game actually finished.

One abiding memory is of sitting in the hotel watching news reports and seeing one of the unwashed attempting to through one of our soft foam targets at a riot cop in full gear. Sums them up.

Cheers

THE BANTER YEARS HAVE NEVER ENDED

Good article again. Wee Alex has clearly lost his marbles as is evident from the delusion and confusion that he is experiencing at this time. As is standard from these bile chewing hate filled mongrels they revert to the unsavoury whenever they lose an argument….which is almost always these days. The banter years have never ended.
Hail hail

ANON

Loved all your articles surrounding the euro finals for both clubs. Keep up the good work! I’d just like to add my response to the sevco fan Alex If that’s ok? Thank you.

Regarding 2008 you are absolutely correct I wasn’t there, I’ve seen too many movies like ‘deliverance’ and ‘wrong turn’ to acknowledge the potential danger of being exposed to a gene pool that has been ‘kept in the family’ for generations. I fail to understand what difference it makes whether it was Scottish, English or Irish wearing your colours? It’s the mentality of people who wear your colours regardless of where they come from that matters. That being said, of the 42 supporters up in court in the aftermath only 1 wasn’t from Scotland.

For the avoidance of doubt Celtic did not at any time vote Rangers out of the league. We were asked to vote on accepting a new club ‘Sevco5088’ straight into the top division without having to first earn that place like every other new team. Could you imagine the furore in England if the recently formed ‘Salford City’ were granted a place in the English premier league? As for being ‘handed’ 5 titles it was not Celtic’s fault that your previous club Rangers cheated schools, hospitals etc out of much needed tax money to pay for players you couldn’t otherwise afford. Rangers paid for 9 in a row with financial doping yet you reprobates have the audacity to talk about tainted titles and asterisks.

The fact you say you don’t mind banter but in the same breath mention child abuse says everything we need to know about you. Anyone who point scores or glorifies in the suffering of children are almost as bad as the sick monsters who perpetrate it In the first place.

Don’t blame us for “tainting Scottish football” by highlighting your inability to behave like human beings when watching a showcase event like a European final. it’s the media who insist that you are Scottish and not some inbred separate entity that reside in Scotland but are not subject to Scottish law or ethical character, we have long tried to distance ourselves from the fan base of both your clubs. Yes it’s true we both agree that you are ‘Scotland’s shame’. but I would much rather you were just ‘shame’ and didn’t have to drag Scotland down with you.

The Fifa/Uefa websites display what the governing body of Scotland tell them and ironically given the deflection tactics from sevco for the past few weeks.. it was one Neil Doncaster who helped create that fake narrative. Even one of your own, the sash singing QC Donald Findlay admits you are a new entity, but explaining that to you is akin to someone playing a pigeon at chess, yes the person will beat the pigeon at chess.. because pigeons are basically thick! However, after the game the pigeon is just going to knock over all the pieces, crap all over the board and do a victory dance.

You my friend, are the Donald Trump of Pigeons.

Peace,

Anthony

CHEATING GOT YOU 8 TAINTED TITLES  AND TEN DOMESTIC CUPS

Alex has obviously been dropped on his head as a baby, whilst clearly forgetting his club’s EBT titles and TAX fraud and saying they are the best domestic club in the world including the 8 tainted titles and 10 domestic cups they cheated all other Scottish clubs out of . Alex just like many of his uneducated criminal fans seems that blatant cheating comes with double standards when involving his 8 year old club.

NO-ONE VOTED YOU OUT

What an obnoxious individual, you make a pretence , of having a reasonable point of view , I won’t bother about your rampaging hordes when you travel, that’s just a norm, it’s why the ‘H’ name  was donated to you after a trip to Wolverhampton in the sixties.

No one voted you out ,  or down the league,  you liquidated,  ceased to exist . Not the company, if club and company are incorporated it is a single entity so why should you try to glean consolation from titles won after rangers died ?  Your child abuse comment re the Canadian, what a imbecile thing to say , never far away from ‘H’ thinking , yet as quiet as a masonic secret when the issue of Dunn , Watson, Neely, Chalmers, etc are raised.  But it’s all you have , desperately clinging to any snide opportunity to link Celtic to this horror.

You got nine by cheating . That’s just fact illicity registered players side letters off shore accounts and simply not paying social taxes .cheating , those titles and trophies should have died with Rangers . So keep grasping at straws , lashing out at anyone who points out the idiot management of this club , a laughing stock , and you and you’re fellow supporters should worry about another administration event , and if the Rangers gets to play qualifiers, your card is marked by UEFA and Res 12 will be acted upon. Enjoy lockdown.

IT”S CELTIC GIVING SCOTTISH FOOTBALL A BAD NAME

How can an 8 yr old club be the best in the world? What does ” paedo looking ” mean , to anybody with a brain? Also Celtic didn’t go out of business, so i don’t know what he’s blethering about . The biggest lie he told was his claim that he’s not a bile filled bigot , aye right ye are! Not forgetting his claim that they wouldn’t have done that (the article) to CELTIC , and that it was The Celtic Star that was giving the Scottish game a bad name by publishing the article ? Oh and not to forget the 5 titles were handed ! Unbelievable .

FERGUS McCANN LIVING RENT FREE INSIDE YOUR OTHERWISE EMPTY NUT

Hi guys. Can I just point out to Alex…that Manchester Police released images of 48 individuals they sought for various offences after Rangers wrecked Manchester with their caveman B/S.  David Edgar, who I believe was then head of the Rangers supporters trust, released a statement (nothing changes) claiming that none of the 48 sought were rangers fans. They were imposters. Intent on tarnishing the good name of RFC.

I’d also like to point out, that all 48 of the ‘Wanted’ were in fact Rangers fans. And season ticket holders to boot. Robbery, and serious assault, including a vicious attack on a loan police officer Were indeed carried out by the uneducated thugs of RFC. Mr Edgar failed to release any other statement to rectify his previously false claims.

Now onto Alex. Why do they become flag wavers for child abuse whenever they are faced with facts, or how bad their team is? The rage, anger and bitterness they show must be either hereditary or simply lack of certain genes, or brain capacity. Anyway. All the best Alex. Nice to know Mr Fergus McCann is living rent free inside your otherwise empty nut. Don’t you wish you had a fan, that put his money where is mouth was and saved rangers. Alas you didn’t and your team perished.

Once a bitter twisted angry bigot, always a bitter twisted angry bigot. Great article as ever.

Some feedback on Celtic Noise

A LARGE CUP OF DELUDAMOL

My God someone has had a large cup of deludamol. We weren’t there, he seen one guy getting a doing off the police and thinks everything else was justified then, and the old Chelsea fans did it and ran away excuse, he then reverts to their default position and brings up Fergus, really at that point his pathetic lame wee story should be binned.

I know plenty of darkside fans that took part in the march of the uglies to Manchester and to a man they admit their fans were like animals that day, looting shops and fighting police, and this was before the power card for the TV ran out. Interesting that he mentioned we only got to see what England wanted us to see, there is loads of independent footage of that day available mate go look for, but it all tells the same story whether it is a British, Russian or French or your own fans videos, you lot are shameful and have proved it on more occasions than I could list.

Enjoy next season with whatever team your called then cause 10 is coming. Quick question before I laugh myself to sleep, how can you claim to have 500m fans worldwide then expect them all to have Scottish accents ya tube ye?

50 Shades of Green

YOU LET YOUR CLUB DIE

Alex , what a prize prick you are ,  your versions of events just don’t add up, sadly like most things at your club. sometimes the truth hurts and you are hurting, that is clear to see.

Manchester was a stain on on Scottish football, your club and especially your fans disgraced themselves. It was not Chelsea fans, it was Rangers fans who terrified the good people of Manchester , who had running battles with police , who set fire to motor cars and who kicked the shit out of innocent people , your fans are vermin and are not welcome anywhere in the modern footballing world.

Your team were not harshly treated in 2011/2012 , you broke the rules, you spent beyond your means when David Murray realised you were screwed he raised a share issue, you did not support it you let your club die and it did, of that there is no doubt.  The tribute act is a mere shadow of the real Rangers.  So Alex, take your tinted glasses and your obsession with child abuse and f- off back under the rock that you crawled out from.

WATCH CRIMEWATCH, ALEX

If Alex just watched the Crimewatch clip he would see the baying mob attack one policeman who is very fortunate to come away with his life. That’s just one of many vicious incidents that night in Manchester. If there were Irish people in Rangers tops that’s possible because lots of them go over to Ibrox to watch them play.

As for Fergus McCann you are filled with that much hate for this man simply because he not only saved Celtic from going under, something that no one who supports your club could do and put in the strong foundations that have made our great club what it is today.

Look the difference between the European finals that Celtic were in and the European finals that Rangers were in is there for everyone to see, don’t make excuses for wrecking Manchester and Barcelona and lots of other places look in the mirror and tell yourself it’s our problem no one else’s and no more excuses.

Jinky1962

DON’T TAKE YOUR ANGER OUT ON FERGUS

Alex, Your old and new club are Scotland’s shame. Even in a country where our media try their best to hide what your vile little club gets up to on their travels we still get to see it.

In a country like England, where football violence used to be common place, your club still managed to outdo the lot of them. See the problem with your story about how it was all the English and Irish falls flat on its backside when you consider what kind of peepul you are,  happy to post videos online of your racist chants. From the disgusting Scott Sinclair song to the racist abuse of small children.

So as your disgraceful fans marched north from manchester do you think they all went home and stayed quiet….absolutely not. They hit the pubs and the streets to tell everyone and anyone what they got upto in Manchester. I know 3 people who went and who were more than happy to get full of the Bucky and tell of how they attacked the scum polis and smashed up shops. They didnt mention any English or iIrish. They were proud of their fellow bears. You see Alex, The fans of your two clubs take great pride in how they act all over Europe. “No one likes us, we dont care” indeed. So take your “it wasn’t us” excuses and your child abuse obsession and head off back to Mordor. Oh and don’t take your anger out on Fergus. It’s not his fault your mob didn’t have anyone to rally the fans to save your club. Hes not to blame for your club dying.

Yours sincerely

A very happy Celtic fan, celebrating a 9 in a row season.

THE BUNNET PAID THE BILLS

Well said Lubo. Wee Fergus paid everyone. If Celtic owed ye money, The Bunnet made sure ye got paid. Celtic could have went into administration and paid no one. (like Deidco tried to do). He did not want that stain on Celtics honour. Alex the bitter Bear should leave Fergus oot this. They had minty Murray, the conman who killed deidco.

A BLIGHT ON OUR GAME

I have to agree with Alex here. If The Celtic Star didn’t highlight this 12 years on we could all just imagine it happened like the Rangers wish it to be remembered. A bit like ‘relegation’ or ‘dropped down the leagues’ no-one does revisionism quite like that lot. Masters of their art. The copper – who avoided brain damage by clinging on to the chin strap of his helmet for dear life – can rest assured his daily headaches, linked to the swelling of his brain and near death experience, only reoccur because The Celtic Star peddle obvious propaganda. Shame on this website, a blight on our game.

SUFFERING ANTI-SCOTTISH ABUSE IN MANCHESTER

I was living down there at the time they rioted in Manchester. The abuse I received for weeks due to me being Scottish was unreal. There were others though that acknowledged that there is always good banter when Celtic come calling.

Steviebhoy67

A FEW THOUGHTS ON THE BLAME GAME

Their cheating which lead to the death of Rangers – Celtics fault. Causing mayhem down in Manchester -English fans fault . Sectarianism in Scotland – Its the Catholic schools fault. But you’ll notice when they’ve nowhere else to go they always throw in a child abuse slur the way Alex  did there.

Tony Soprano

When  they were down in the bottom leagues, did you notice in the Scottish Premiership there was no sectarianism. No bigotry. No violence at games. The other clubs were making profits. All without the “blue” pound. Since they have came back up it’s been getting worse, year on year. But it cant be there fault of course.

Andybhoy87

No wonder the Rangers manager fits in so well at that club. It’s not our/my fault but always someone who is out to get you. There was a time when Celtic fans were called paranoid but they have taken it to another level. How you can even argue against the facts is , well it’s just expected. Theres a reason why Rangers were punished and you don’t need the English media to find out.

THE LAST WORD –  “A PERMANENT EMBARRASSMENT AND AN OCCASIONAL DISGRACE’

There were significant crowd problems at Ibrox in 1973 and 1975 but it was a Rangers’ fans riot in Birmingham in 1976 in a ‘friendly’ with Aston Villa, which provoked the biggest media storm. In general Rangers’ expressions of disapproval and condemnation of ‘certain sections’ of their support, which had followed earlier outbreaks, were seen as irrelevant and now the Glasgow press severely criticised the club.

The press detailed the Rangers’ fans riots in Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Barcelona and now Birmingham, along with minor skirmishes elsewhere, and condemned the club. The general tone is revealed by Ian Archer in the Glasgow Herald, who stated :

“This has to be said about Rangers as a Scottish Football club they are a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace. This country would be a better place if Rangers did not exist”.
