Rangers were rescued by an injury time penalty up in Pittodrie after Nick Walsh was instructed by VAR to give the spot kick. It was a harsh call but one that has been the same old story this season.

After Celtic drew at home to Motherwell yesterday, Rangers could’ve moved to six points with a win in the North East. However, they failed to take advantage of the stalemate with the Steelmen.

Bojan Miovski fired the hosts into the lead with an excellent finish that had shades of Kyogo’s goal at Ibrox in September. However, Tavernier made no mistake from the spot and levelled matters up.

Connor Goldson was seen to be held back, despite Lammers also committing a foul, the referee made the decision to point to the spot. The decision was met with furious boos from the Aberdeen fans.

For Celtic, it is a good result after yesterday’s disappointing performance and draw. Brendan Rodgers’ side missed another penalty and didn’t show enough quality in the final third before allowing Motherwell to get back into it with their first shot in the second half.

Rodgers and the team need to click to ensure that the gap is extended before the Glasgow Derby at the end of December. Next Sunday, Celtic travel to Perth to face St Johnstone while Rangers host St Mirren.
