“I was very pleased with the performance and the result,” Brendan told Celtic TV. “Going in to the game I was really looking for improvement from when we last played.

“I think that was clear to me that we had done that. In the first 10 minutes, our distances and our pressing weren’t quite what I wanted them to be, but we were still strong.

“We didn’t have too many issues, but then once we made that breakthrough of the goal that wasn’t, then we really took off in the game. It ended up being a fantastic day for the players, the supporters and the staff.’

“I’d still like us to be more ruthless if I’m honest. In all the games we’ve scored three goals, so from an attacking perspective, we’re playing how I’d want us to be.

“But there are still elements that we can be better in. We are creating really good opportunities and we can have that ruthlessness to take those and make the scoreline even greater.”

The full interview is available to subscribers on Celtic TV and is usually posted via You Tube a few days after it was posted. Here’s the gist of what Brendan was saying about the brilliant win over theRangers in this sampler video…

  1. A week can be a long time within the footballing world?
Last week was a perfect example for how that can transpire, especially for ourselves?
We started the week in anticipation with the last week of the transfer window, and still without a finalised 25man squad in place for ourselves?
The tension was eased somewhat with some action starting to develop in the transfer market, along with getting a very decent draw in the CL?
Then to top off a fabulous week, we get some very decent business actually completed, and handing over a pumping and footballing lesson to the scum?
Would make you think that was such a plan in place all along for ourselves, especially as you could hardly have delivered a better week for ourselves?
A total transformation in how we as a club, from everyone involved, feels towards tackling the challenges ahead of ourselves for the remainder of the season ahead.
A totally united Celtic, creats a spirit that is unmatched within the footballing world, and only increases when the quality of our football is on show for all to see?
This is where we currently are, as a club, and hopefully that remains the case for the foreseeable also?
Last week could well turn out to be a massive week to add to our unbroken history, and sets ourselves up nicely to add numerous memorable weeks for the season ahead?
Last week was only the starter completed, we still have the main course to come yet, along with the dessert of collecting trophies at the end of the season?
Could be looking at some feast to savour all the same this season?
