It was on this day, three years ago, that Liam Miller tragically passed away at the tender age of 36. The former Republic of Ireland international, who starred for Celtic, Manchester United and Leeds – as well as having spells at Sunderland, QPR and Hibs – lost his life after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

His career promised so much, and whilst not hitting the heights that he would have expected, he still played for some fantastic clubs. It is a travesty that he never got to build a career in football coaching and live a longer life with his family and friends. However, he certainly made his mark in life and we feel it is appropriate to pay tribute to him today.

Below, you can watch two of Liam’s finest performances in a Celtic shirt. He burst onto the scene and performed incredibly well in these Champions League victories over Lyon and Anderlecht. His goals were the icing on the cake:

RIP Liam Miller, you will never be forgotten.
