Mark Bouris is a famous Australian businessman with his own chat show – The Mark Bourish Show. Back in September 2015, he interviewed the then Australian national football team manager Ange Postecoglou and asked him what it is like to take over a new coaching role. Postecoglou’s reply indicated that a new manager is invariably appointed because the team has not been doing well and therefore, he is not afraid to change things rather than persist with the previous strategy that led to his appointment.

There’s no secret that Celtic have reached the end of an era. Nine consecutive league titles, four trebles on the spin and an Invincible Treble to boot. It’s been some journey. However, there’s now a changing of the guard as many players are set to depart, with new ideas and structural arrangements heralding a new vision in Paradise. In other words, a major rebuild is underway.

During his interview with Bouris, Ange talks about the need to implement new ideas and the need to persist with them over time before results come to fruition. He also talks about his lack of desire to be popular, his methodology behind building a battle hardened mindset among the players, and developing young footballers into senior professionals.

You can catch a glimpse of the conversation below. Perhaps it can reveal more about the new Celtic boss’ philosophy and what we can expect next season.
