Video: Ange talks up Celtic after FIFA nomination for Best Coach

Ange Postecoglou has spoken fondly about Celtic following his nomination as FIFA’s Coach of the Year. The Australian guided the Celts to a record-breaking 8th Treble earlier this year before departing for the English Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking at a Spurs press conference, Postecoglou said that it was brilliant that the club were getting the recognition that they deserved, whilst praising players, staff and supporters.

Ange joined from Yokohama F Marinos in the summer of 2021 as a somewhat unknown quantity. The former Australia manager had enjoyed success in his native country as well as Japan but there were questions about whether he could replicate this in Scotland. Very quickly, Ange proved that he was a class above as he navigated a rebuild as well as implementing a brilliant style of play.

In his first season, Postecoglou oversaw the return of the Premiership title as well as the League Cup. Promising that Celtic would come back bigger and better, Ange did not disappoint. The style of play was evident and Celtic simply blew teams away domestically.

Ange was incredible for Celtic and deserved the progression to England as per his journey to be recognised as an elite coach. Hopefully, he can bring success to Spurs and continue to earn the deserved recognition of just how good a coach he is.
