Video: Aussie Keeper Mat Ryan’s massive hint on move to Celtic rather than Real Sociedad

Brighton’s Mat Ryan appeared to be heading to Real Sociedad rather than Celtic or at least that was the situation at the weekend as Hoops fans’ hopes of seeing the Australian goalkeeper team up once again with Ange Postecoglou faded.

However speaking to Fox Sports Australia the keeper gave the clearest hint possible that a re-union with his former national manager would be his clear preference. Haggis or Paella? Was the question trying to tease a football answer from the goalkeeper and rather than sit on the fence Ryan was emphaitc: “Haggis every day of the week!”

He continued:  “Nah, at the minute I’m on the fence. I’m not sure what I fancy, what my tastebuds are craving just now. I’ll have to wait and see. At the minute, just nothing. I’m just waiting and seeing. Until, I guess, I get a bit of a craving to find out.”

“I mean, it’s obviously always flattering to have interest and all that. There’s been a lot of speculation about it, I guess, people putting two and two together. Realising that I guess I’m probably at the stage of my career now where [a move]is probably going to be happening given the circumstances at Brighton.

“And obviously, given the relationship between Ange and I in the past, in the national team, I think there’s a lot of people putting two and two together. It’s interesting, that move may come about. I’m not really sure what’s going, just waiting and seeing. And trying to give the diplomatic answer.”

Watch the interview below then try tell us that Mat Ryan doesn’t fancy a move to Celtic!
