An old video from the archives emerged on Twitter this morning, when @Celticcurio uploaded a video of Bertie Auld telling the story of a sports quiz between the Catholic Church and the Orange Lodge.

The charismatic Lisbon Lion tells the joke in his unique way before laughing and hugging the interviewer.

Auld said: “The Catholic Church and the Orange Lodge had a sports quiz in a big hall and it was really jam packed, all the tickets were sold, and the quizmaster said ‘right, both teams ready, sit down, fingers on the button. First question, who was the first British club to win the European Cup?’ Catholic Church in right away, ‘Celtic’. ‘Three points’.

‘Second question, who was the Scottish team that won 9 championships on the trot?’ Catholic Church in right away, buzz, ‘Celtic’. ‘Four points’.

So the chairman of the Orange Lodge stood up and said ‘Excuse me quizmaster, I think these questions are favouring the opposition.’ The quizmaster says ‘Sit down your time will come. Third question, who scored the League Cup goal for Rangers?’ Orange Lodge in right away, ‘What League Cup final?’ ‘The one you got beat 7-1’.
