Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has said that the club will defend their position after the manager was charged following comments made in the wake of the 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle. Rodgers commented about the officials after the game after decisions from John Beaton on VAR resulted in Yang being sent off and a penalty being awarded against Iwata.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s Scottish Cup Quarter Final against Livingston, Rodgers refused to apologise for the comments and said that the club will fight the SFA over the charge.

Rodgers said: “My job is to defend the team, defend our club and that’s what we’ll do in this case. We’ll defend it vigorously.”

If Rodgers is found guilty at the disciplinary hearing, he will not be on the touchline for the game against Rangers at Ibrox.
