The second leg of a UEFA Champions League qualification match takes place in Glasgow tomorrow night, with Malmo hoping to build on their 2-1 advantage and progress to the next round. The game does not involve Celtic and thus we would not ordinarily be concerned with events surrounding the fixture, particularly as we bowed out of qualification for the same competition recently. However, the comments of Malmo manager Jon Dahl Tomasson have caused a stir among supporters across the city and it is for that reason that we bring you news of what he said and how the world of Celtic Twitter has reacted.

Tomasson was asked if there was more pressure on his team because they have a first leg lead, or on his opponents because they are set to play at home in front of a large support. The Dane stunned reporters by producing a wry smile and cheekily replying: “Don’t you think that they need the Champions League money here? I think so. I think they need that. I think that’s a good answer isn’t it?”

An awkward silence hovered over the media room, before the Malmo boss was asked to expand on his remarks. He obliged, quipping: “I think you’re all clever lads, so you understand it.”
