Video: Celtic goalkeeping target involved in own-goal at Euro 2024

Reported Celtic goalkeeping target Altay Bayindir has been involved in a shocking own-goal at the Euros as Portugal went two goals in front of Turkey.

The 26-year-old started the game in Dortmund and was partially responsible as a slack back-pass from Akaydin, which ended up crossing the line.

Bayindir has the No.1 shirt at Manchester United but is beyond Onana in Erik Ten Hag’s estimations, meaning he has had limited game time. Celtic have been linked with the former Fenerbahce stopper as the club looks to replace Joe Hart, who retired after a brilliant three seasons at the club.

  1. A communication issue that you wouldn’t expect to see, especially at international level.
This is also something that we should be taking into consideration for the start of next season also imo?
Possibly the area that has to be at its strongest in regards communication within a team, between keeper and CBs?
With that looking like being a completely different partnership in operation, and a fair chance of there being a potential of variable options on offer within that very important area of our team.
Then we aren’t to far away from actually getting it resolved fairly quickly, especially with a potential shortened pre season on offer to many of the players who could be involved within the euros yet?
These partnerships have to be formed with good understanding and communication within them, but also takes a bit of time to form strongly also imo?
So when you consider that any potential signings that could be involved within current tournament football.
Along with the player’s maybe looking for a break after them.
Along with ourselves needed to really having this potential issue resolved before our USA pre season trip?
Then maybe not as much time as we would like before the start of next season, in resolving the current situation we find ourselves currently in imo?
Would like to think that some of these deals are already in place in principle, whoever the actual individuals are, as certainly don’t want to be finding ourselves scratching around in trying to resolve an issue, that has been in existence for ourselves for some time now either imo?

  2. Don’t think Altay needed to go for the ball at all but saying that you don’t expect an experienced international defender to play a blind pass towards his own goal! So wouldn’t blame the keeper that much.
